Red Wing, Minnesota is one of our favorite towns. It is famous for Red Wing Boots and Red Wing Pottery. It also is noted for it's hanging pots of petunias and the Historic St. James Hotel. It has a very attractive Main St. with many shops.
Red Wing is on the Mississippi River and we are intrigued by the many boat houses and the marinas. The boat houses are anchored by long poles on each corner. They slide up and down depending on the level of the river.
The old Red Wing Pottery Factory has been replaced by an outlet mall. There are many displays of the old pottery and boot factories around town. While we are here, there is a Red Wing Pottery Collectors Association which is meeting here this week.We camp at the Indian Casino, Treasure Island, and this is Pow Wow weekend, hopefully we will get some good Indian pictures.
