ALBUQUERQUE AND JULIE

On our way back from Arizona, we went to Albuquerque, (it helps to be able to spell that if you come from Dubuque!), because Julie (Runde) Dax lives there. She was in my nursing class, was one of my bridesmaids, and a good friend. We hadn't seen her in over 40 years and I wondered if she'd want to see me, and even if she did, what would we talk about. Well, that was no problem! We spent the day together, talked constantly, and had a great time! She took us to Old Town, where we ate at La Placida, a very good Mexican restaurant. There were shops and an old church on the square, and artisans selling their wares, mostly jewelry.

Julie also took us up to the top of the Sandia Mountains and showed us an awesome view of Albuquerque. What a treat!
