A DAY AT TUBAC

We spent a day at Tubac, at the annual art festival with the Fitzgeralds from Grinnell. There must have been 100 tents full of art work, pottery and lots of homemade jewelry.

Then we went on to Tumacacori, to see the remains of the old mission.
Kathy tasted a prickley pear cactus leaf.
On to Tucson to the restored Mission San Xavier del Bac.
We ended our day with a nice dinner at Creative Cafe in Casa Grande-another nice day with the Irish!

WHO DID IT???

In a weak moment one day at card class, I made the mistake of telling a couple of gals that I'm the Poinsettia Queen, along with the long story. In response to a practical joke which I "may" have accomplished, a poinsettia plant started appearing and disappearing outside our bedroom window. After blaming two different people, the third finally admitted it. (It's a good trick-try it some time!) As life goes on-the story grows! I continue to be proud!!!

RECENT NEIGHBORHOOD EVENTS

We've enjoyed several events lately. One evening, 20 of the people from our neighborhood, sat at a table together at the Flying J Circle Ranch dinner and show. The food and music were both good and enjoyed by all.

Last Sunday, on Valentines Day, Sue and Allen Hanson had a wonderful brunch for the neighborhood, which even included chocolate covered strawberries. It was yummy!!!

I'm sorry this is a really bad picture, but this is our hostess, Sue-standing.
These pictures should answer that horrible song we all used to hear on our children's program-"Who Are the People In Your Neighborhood?" Oh My God, I hope I can get that out of my head now!!!)

ONE MORE TIME

You can never see the Clydesdales too many times-such beautiful horses. They were in the parking lot at the grocery store.

When we were done shopping they were at the door.

A DAY WITH FITZGERALDS

We spent a day with Pat and Kathy Fitzgerald, our friends from Grinnell, who are in Apache Junction this year in a double wide trailer in a park. This cactus was growing out of the awning over the porch.

We went to a quilt/craft show, did some shopping, and went to Mesa Mart. We headed for Mimi's Cafe for supper, but Fitz put the wrong address in the GPS, which took us to an adult store parking lot. We decided instead to eat at a restaurant we passed-the Weather Vane. It was great! The ribs fell off the bones and melted in your mouth. Everthing was homemade, including blackberry cobbler with real ice cream. Another good day!

MORE RAIN

We were blessed with more rain. It had an even harder time trying to find a place to go. In front.

To the side.

Down the road.

TRIP IN THE MOUNTAINS

One day we took a free casino trip on brand new coaches up in the mountains to Payson.

There was snow up there and along the way on the higher mountains.

The recent rain has made a difference already as the desert is getting "green".

It was a pretty trip, and profitable. I won on the slots and at bingo for a total of $130.

CATCHING UP

Wow, I'm way behind again! We've been busy, and it also helped to finally get over the cough! In the past couple weeks, we've attended two full day genealogy seminars, toured the Casa Grande Hospital, went to an extra craft class and been to a couple theater programs. One day we had a couple inches of rain, which was really needed, but there was no place for it to go.

These pictures were taken in the dark because we were on our way to a seminar in Mesa. This is the way out of the resort.

This will help the spring flowers. I don't want to upset all of you who are knee deep in snow-but, yesterday I saw two flowering spring trees in full bloom. What a beautiful sight!
