Outside, there are daisies everywhere.
The cyclorama is upstairs in the circular area of the building, so you're surronded by the battle and feel like you're part of it. Very impressive! I sneaked a small picture on the way out.
The museum is very interesting-there's a lot of information about Abe.
Obviously, there's a lot about the soldiers, but I was especially interested in the cavalry. My grandmother's father, Isadore Friedell, was part of the cavalry. He was in several battles, including Shiloh. When we visited there a year ago last April at the actual time of the battle, the redbuds and dogwoods were in bloom. It was hard to imagine that such bloodshed took place in the middle of such beauty. This battle left the little town, with thousands of wounded and dead soldiers to care for. It was never the same. The way they fought in open fields, we're lucky my Great-grandfather came home alive. Here's an example of a cavalry man.
