WAY BEHIND

First, one last note about Astoria. There have been 27 movies filmed there and in the area. The first one was in 1908 and the latest in 2009. A couple you've heard of are, The Great Race, Kindergarten Cop, Free Willy I and II, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III and The Guardian. Their personal favorite was The Goonies, which has a cult following and they still come to Astoria for reunions. Some of the actors involved in the movies are Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Dennis Quaid, Sela Ward, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick Swayze, Faye Dunaway, Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher, Robert Duvall and many others. Nine commercials have been shot there including many types of car commercials. Series for the Discovery Channel, game shows, and the Today Show and Good Morning America have visited. They're very proud of all this. It's a great place to visit!
Now, we've done a lot of sightseeing the last couple days, so we've moved on and I'm way behind on the blog. Hopefully, we'll sit for a day so I can get caught up. We're headed to Baker City, Or to get mail and so I can do some more research on my grandfather's brother's family.
