NATIONAL WORLD WAR I MUSEUM

The National World War I Museum increased our respect for all our relatives and other men and women who served our country in that war. So much of it was fought from trenches and "they had to cope with lice, mud, rats, poorly maintained latrines, trench foot and other deplorable conditions". When you enter and leave, you walk across a glass bridge with poppies beneath it. These were in bloom at Flanders field in Belgium where they fought. Each of the 9000 poppies represents 1,000 combatent deaths, to equal over 9,000,000 deaths.

Did you try the elevator to the top? OK if you do not get claustrophobia. Great view from the top. My hotel roomn faced it when i was there a couple of years ago. Jerry M
