ON TO EL PASO AREA

Today we drove to Clint which is just east of El Paso. There's no doubt that west Texas is oil country. There are refineries and oil wells everywhere.

Then we went from totally flat land to mountains.

We could see Mexico in the distance and there were 8 border patrol trucks in one area, so they must have been expecting something to happen.

Here's the view of Mexico from our campground.

Tomorrow we'll drive into New Mexico and hopefully get to Arizona. I forgot-I drove today-about 20 miles-and everything's still in one piece!And-now I'm finally caught up!!! I can hardly believe it!

HEY!! Guys....(you too Queen Poinsettia) I hate to be the one to break the news, but only I know!
I alerted the Border Patrol about your 'passage' and they were just making sure that you ONLY stopped at the campground and then headed out the next day. I mean 'straight out' of the state. You know, we're really choosy here in Texas. By the way, did you know that 76% of those born in Texas continue to live out their lives in the state? (just a UBI) I have never left a comment on your blog...but, I love it and your pictures let us travel right along with you! After 12 months of just sitting here, we definitely have 'hitch-itch'... Thanx for the 'parts' and since we are having winter this week we were able to use them. (Tell me, does fun rhyme with one? That sorta looks like Don's 'poetry') Keep laughin' and scratchin, and havin' FUN !! Bob...
