YEARLY HORNY TOAD VISIT
Don's sister Kathy and husband Jerry spend 3 months in Surprise. Another sister, Linda ,and her husband Dave from Minneapolis, were visiting his parents for a week, so we met them at the Horny Toad for lunch. We had to split a strawberry shortcake-it's tradition!
ALONG HIGHWAY 10
Each trip north shows the difference in the brittle bushes-they bloom more everyday. Please excuse our dirty windshield.
SAN TAN FLATS
We had promised to get Al and Shirley Ludeking up to San Tan Flats for dinner before they left for Decorah, so we sneaked in a trip last Wednesday.

Karen and Willie Brown went along.

We had a nice flat iron steak dinner for $9.99. It was delicious!

After dinner, Willie got a box of wood and the fellow came and lit a fire for us. Karen brought the makings for s'mores.

Another nice dining experience!

"THE DOG WHISPERER"
Across the street from us, lives Jerry and Dana Anthous and their two adorable little white dogs, Daisy and Sadie. (They're in the background in the first picture.) Behind them is the dog run. All the dogs in the area walk by Jerry's, and ALL the dogs know him. They all stop for their moment of petting and to get a treat from his left pocket. The small dogs get 1/2 a treat and the big dogs get a whole one. It's fun to watch the parade.

Another friend.

Here's Ben. Sometimes he goes right up to him and takes one out of his pocket.

Here are a couple of my favorites-Heidi and Roxy. Sometimes Roxy is lazy and she refuses to walk another step. Nothing works to get her to move-she wants to be carried.
More friends.
As you can see, I don't always get the best view of Jerry, so I asked him to pose for me.
It's been a joy this winter watching Jerry and his friends!
ARIZONA OPRY
A group of 24 from our neighborhood and a few other friends, went to the John Denver show at Arizona Opry in Apache Junction. Our dinner was delicious, followed by a nice tribute to John Denver.
Some of our group waiting to go inside.
ST. PATRICK'S DAY BLOCK PARTY
2ND ANNUAL FAJITA DERBY
We had such fun at the horseraces last year, that Sue and Marilyn hosted it again. The outfits were interesting and fun. I just had to show Joe Evers' hairy legs-the devil made me do it!

This jockey was a "winner"-you can see money coming from various places.

Toilet covers were used creatively!

Even the guts looked good.

One of our hostesses-Sue in blue.
