MORE EXPENSIVE VERSIONS

If you want to spend a lot of money, you can, go to the top of a tower on the Canadian side:

Or, take an elevator down, and climb along the steps on the American side:

Or, on the Canadian side:

Then, there's a tower on the American side:

Or, a park on the American side, where you can also see people flying kites:

NIAGARA FALLS

Another of those seven wonders of the world-and indeed it is!! When we were at the Grand Canyon with Fitzgeralds-Fitz kept saying, 'Boy, that's a big hole!" As we walked along, Mulert kept saying, "What would Fitz say?" We decided it would be, "Boy, that's a lot of water!" As you advance down the sidewalk, you go from the beginning where you're at the top of the huge river.

Further:

And even more:

Which gives you Horseshoe Falls! Totally awesome!!

Across on the other side are American Falls and the smaller one on the right is Bridal Falls!

NIAGARA FALLS, CANADA

On Thursday, we paid $3.75 to go back across the bridge to see the falls from the Canadian side, and paid $18.00 to park. You have to be careful, because it's a huge tourist trap, and you can pay a whole lot to see basically the same thing. Downtown Niagara Falls, Ontario is like a mini Wisconsin Dells, as you can see in these pictures. Obviously, we avoided this!

The rest of the area consists of huge hotels and restaurants, but along the river, is a park, where you can walk along and get awesome views of all the falls. You even get wet from the mist, so it isn't necessary to take a boat to "feel the falls". Here are some of the land views from the park area.

Sorry to do this-but I'm out of time, so you'll have to wait to see the falls!!

NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK CUSTOMS

Yesterday afternoon, we made it back into the good old USA, after many questions. It rained, so we decided to wait until today to go sightseeing.

TRIP TO NIAGARA FALLS

Yesterday morning, we traveled to Niagra Falls, by way of Hamilton, Ontario, through wine country, then across the bridge over Lake Ontario.

The sky meets the water at the horizon.

LONDON, ONTARIO

We took a ride to London, and on the way, we stopped at a couple of farmers markets. In town, we ended up eating at Crabby Joe's, which was good.

WE MADE IT!

At the last minute, we remembered we had wine aboard, so we pulled over and dug it out to see if we were within the limit. (3 bottles meet with their approval!) Thank God, we knew about all the questions-they're certainly doing their jobs, which gives you a good feeling! Here's the bridge leading to customs-it's just for Colette, who hates bridges!

Here we're waiting in line-maybe they let us thru because they were afraid of our pets, the moose family!
